I had disguised myself as a man and taken my brother’s place as an Imperial Censor for three years. But, being too timid, I hadn’t dared to impeach a single person. The Emperor scolded me for being useless and hinted that I should find faults with the Regent and impeach him to death. If he didn’t die, then it would be my end. How could I let that happen? To survive, I clung to the Regent like a leech, following him around day and night. Finally, I discovered that he had a secret chamber in his room.
